Human Rights Policy

Aditum Publishers expects authors to comply with the International Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki, as revised in 2013. All research involving human participants must be reviewed and approved by an independent, local, regional, or national ethics committee or institutional review board. Authors must include a clear statement confirming that the study received ethical approval and that all procedures were conducted in accordance with applicable regulations.

Manuscripts describing human subject research must also confirm that informed consent was obtained from all participants prior to their involvement in the study. Consent should be obtained after fully explaining the nature, purpose, benefits, and potential risks of the study to the participants.

Patients have an inherent right to privacy that must not be violated without explicit informed consent. Articles submitted to Aditum Publishers must not include identifying details such as names, initials, personal identifiers, or hospital numbers unless the information is essential for scientific purposes and the patient (or guardian) has provided written informed consent for publication. Authors must confirm that such consent has been obtained and must be prepared to provide documentation if requested by the editorial team.
